ZDM Special Session at INDIN’19 Conference

On last the 25th of July 2019, during the INDIN’19 conference, held in Helsinki, Finland, a special session about “Innovative Technologies and Methods for Zero Defect Manufacturing on Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems Context” was organized under the scope of the 4ZDM cluster, and particularly involving the following 3 H2020 European projects: GO0DMAN (aGent Oriented Zero Defect Multi-stage mANufacturing), STREAM-0D (Zero Defect Manufacturing Solution) and ZAero (Zero-defect manufacturing of composite parts in the aerospace industry).

The objective of this special session was to provide an open discussion forum where researchers and industrial partners can share their own perspectives and visions on developing methodologies, designs and roadmaps to address innovative technologies and methods for ZDM within the industrial cyber-physical systems context.

Seven papers were presented in this special session, providing interesting results about the implementation of ZDM strategies, namely integration challenges, virtual sensors, simulation and data analytics. In particular, Paulo Leitão presented the paper entitled “Integration Challenges for the Deployment of a Multi-Stage Zero-Defect Manufacturing Architecture” containing results of the GO0D MAN project.
