First technical meeting in Electrolux Professional

The GOOD MAN partners visit the Electrolux Professional plant in Valloncello

The Electrolux Professional high-customized production, with manual and semiautomatic procedures, represents one of the most relevant production processes in the European manufacturing contest. That is the reason why it is one of the three case studies selected for the GO0D MAN project. The aim is the implementation of a multi-agent system architecture, integrating process and quality control, enhanced with advanced data analytics algorithms and learning techniques. The final objective is the achievement of a Zero Defect Manufacturing strategies.

The GO0D MAN project is particularly focused on the production line of the air-o-steam Touchline oven, with the patented “Food Safe Control” system. A new generation of ovens dedicated to high-level chefs and restaurants.

On November 18th, 2016, all partners visited the Valloncello Electrolux Professional plant in order to better understand all the peculiarities of the production line and to start thinking about GO0D MAN approach implementation on the process.
Electrolux presented its vision about the new production line that will be developed in the contest of the project, supporting the Industry4.0 paradigm. The vision includes the implementation of a Human-Machine Interface (HMI), the complete traceability of main components and the inclusion of new quality control stations in order to fulfill the objective of a multi-stage quality control.

During the visit, the partners had the possibility to catch the production process organization, such as the different preassembly areas, the final assembly and testing station. A special focus has been devoted to the existing data available from the actual production process, in order to start the data-analytics-driven approach for the ZDM.
